1945년 6년간 벌어진 전쟁의 끝에서, 제 3제국은 신들의 황혼 속으로 빠져들었다.

동쪽에서는 소련군이 동프로이센을 짓밟고 베를린으로 밀려들었고, 서쪽에서는 미군과 영국군이 지크프리트선을 넘어 거침없이 진격을 계속했다.

국방군과 무장 친위대, 국민돌격대(Volkssturm)는 아무런 희망도 없이 처절한 저항을 계속하고 있었다.

제국의 파멸이 끝을 맺어가던 4월 29일, 베를린의 지하 벙커 속에서 Adolf Hitler는 오랜 애인 Eva Braun과 결혼했다.

자살을 결심한 히틀러는 비서 Gertrud Junge양에게 유언을 구술한다.

히틀러는 자신의 죽음 이후의 일, 자신의 소유물에 대한 처분 방법과 유언의 집행인이 누구인지까지 자세히 진술했다.

Since 1914, when as a volunteer, I made my modest contribution in the World War which was forced upon the Reich, over thirty years have passed.
내가 (외부로부터)제국에 강요된 1차 세계 대전에 자원병으로 출전하여 신중하게 봉사해온 1914년 이래, 30년 이상이 흘렀다.

In these three decades, only love for my people and loyalty to my people have guided me in all my thoughts, actions, and life.

I have exhausted my time, my working energy, and my health in these three decades.

It is untrue that I or anybody else in Germany wanted war in 1939.
1939년에 독일에서 본인이나 혹은누군가가  전쟁을 원했다는 것은 사실이 아니다.

It was desired and instigated exclusively by those international statesmen who were either of Jewish origin or working for Jewish interests.
전쟁은 전적으로 유대 종족 혹은 유대인의 이익을 위해서 일하는 국제적 정치가에 의해 선동되었고, 원해졌던 것이다.

I have made so many offers for the reduction and elimination of armaments, which posterity cannot explain away for all eternity, that the responsibility for the outbreak of this war cannot rest on me.

Furthermore, I never desired that after the first terrible World War a second war should arise against England or even against America.

Centuries may pass, but out of the ruins of our cities and monuments of art there will arise anew the hatred for the people who alone are ultimately responsible: International Jewry and its helpers!

As late as three days before the outbreak of the German-Polish War, I proposed to the British Ambassador in Berlin a solution for the German-Polish problem -- similar to the problem of the Saar area, under international control.

This offer cannot be explained away, either.
이 제안은 어느쪽으로나 받아들여지지 않을 수 없는 것이었다.

It was only rejected because the responsible circles in English politics wanted the war, partly in the expectation of business advantages, partly driven by propaganda promoted by international Jewry.
이것은 단지 영국의 정치지도자 서클이 전쟁을 원했기 때문에, 상업적인 이득을 기대해서, 국제 유대인들이 유포한 프로파간다의 영향을 받고 거부되었다.

But I left no doubt about the fact that if the peoples of Europe were again only regarded as so many packages of stock shares by these international money and finance conspirators, then that race, too, which is the truly guilty party in this murderous struggle would also have to be held to account: the Jews!

I further left no doubt that this time we would not permit millions of European children of Aryan descent to die of hunger, nor millions of grown-up men to suffer death, nor hundreds of thousands of women and children to be burned and bombed to death in their cities, without the truly guilty party having to atone for its guilt, even if through more humane means.
심지어 인도적 수단에 의해서라도 죄인들이 이런 범죄에 대하여 진실한 처벌을 받는 것은 고사하고, 수백만의 유럽 아리안 자녀들이 굶어죽고 수백만의 성인들이 죽어가며, 수백 수천의 여자와 아이들이 도시에 닥친 죽음에 불타고 폭사당하는 이 현실에 대해서는 한치의 의심의 여지가 없다.

After six years of struggle, which in spite of all reverses will go down in history as the most glorious and most courageous manifestation of a people's will to live. I cannot separate myself from the city which is the capital of this Reich.
모든 좌절에도 불구하고 , 한 나라의 생존을 위한 빛나는 영웅적인 투쟁의 상징으로서, 역사에 남을 6년간에 걸친 전쟁을 치른 오늘날, 나는 이 나라의 수도인 이 거리를 버릴 수는 없다.

Because our forces are too few to permit any further resistance against the enemy's assaults, and because individual resistance is rendered valueless by blinded and characterless scoundrels, I desire to share the fate that millions of others have taken upon themselves, in that I shall remain in this city.
이곳에 대한 적의 공격에 비해 저항할 힘이 훨씬 더 적고 창조성이 결여된 그들만큼 현혹된 이들에 의해 우리의 저항은 점점 더 약화되고 있기 때문에 나는 역시 스스로 이 도시에 머물러 있는 다른 몇백만의 국민들과 운명을 함께하고자 한다.

Furthermore, I do not want to fall into the hands of enemies who for the delectation of the hate-riddled masses require a new spectacle promoted by the Jews.
그리고 또한, 나는 유대인들에 의해서 제공될 새로운 스펙타클을 요구하는 신경질적 대중을 기쁘게 하기 위해  적의 수중에 떨어져서는 안된다.

I have therefore resolved to remain in Berlin and there to choose death of my own will at the very moment when, as I believe, the seat of the Fuehrer and Chancellor can no longer be defended.

I die with a joyful heart in the awareness the immeasurable deeds and achievements of our soldiers at the front, of our women at home, the achievements of our peasants and workers, and the contribution, unique in history, of our youth, which bears my name.

It goes without saying that I thank them all from the bottom of my heart and that it is also my desire that in spite of everything they should not give up the struggle, but continue fighting wherever they may be, faithful to the great Clausewitz, against the enemies of the Fatherland.
나는 마음속 깊이 여러분 모두에게 내 감사의 마음을 전하며 투쟁을 포기하지 말고 더 나아가 클라우제비츠의 교리와 일치하는 곳이면 어디서건 조국의 적들에 맞서 계속 싸워나가는 것이 나의 열망이다.

From the sacrifices of our soldiers and from my own comradeship with them, there will come in one way or another into German history the seed of a brilliant renaissance of the National Socialist movement and thus the realization of a true national community.
우리 병사들의 희생과 나 자신의 우정으로부터 씨앗이 뿌려졌고, 그것은 어느때인가 독일 역사속에 싹이 터 성공하여 진실로 통일된 국가에서 국가사회주의 운동의 빛나는 재생을 맞이하게 될 것이다.

Many very brave men and women have resolved to link their lives to mine to the very end.
많은 용기있는 남녀들이 최후까지 책임감을 가지고 그들의 생명을 함께하기로 결심했다.

I have requested them, and finally ordered them, not to do so, but instead to take part in the continuing struggle of the nation.
나는 그들에게 부탁해왔고, 마침내 그들에게 이같이 행동을 하지 말고 국가의 투쟁을 지속하라고 명령했다.

I ask the commanders of the army, navy, and air force to strengthen by all possible means the spirit of resistance of our soldiers in the spirit of National Socialism, emphasizing especially that I too, as founder and creator of this movement, have preferred death to cowardly flight or even capitulation.
나는 이 운동의 설립자이자 창시자로서 내 자신이 비겁한 사임이나 항복보다 죽음을 택한 사실을 특별히 강조하여 국가사회주의 사상안에서 우리 병사들의 저항 정신을 가능한한 모든 수단을 사용하여 강화하기를 육군과 해군, 공군의 지도자들에게 바라는 바이다.

May it be one day a part of the code of honor; as it is already in the navy, that the surrender of an area or of a town is impossible, and above all in this respect the leaders should give a shining example of faithful devotion to duty unto death.

Before my death I expel the former Reichsmarschall Hermann Goering and deprive him of all the rights he may enjoy by virtue of the decree of June 29, 1941, and also by virtue of my statement in the Reichstag on September 1, 1939.

In his place I appoint Gauleiter Karl Hanke as Reichsfuehrer-SS and Chief of the German Police and Gauleiter Paul Giesler as Reich Minister of the Interior.

Goering and Himmler, by their secret negotiations with the enemy, without my knowledge or approval, and by their illegal attempts to seize power in the state, quite apart from their treachery to my person, have brought irreparable shame to the country and the whole people.
괴링과 히믈러는 나에게 알리지 않은 채, 내 의사에 반하여 적과 비밀리에 교섭했고, 또한 불법적으로 국가의 지배권을 탈취하려고 시도함으로써 모든 국민에게 돌이킬 수 없는 치욕을 남겨주었다.

In order to give the German people a government composed of honorable men, who will fulfill their duty of continuing the war by all available means, I, as the Fuehrer of the nation, nominate the following members of the new Cabinet:

Yet I must ask them to obey my request, and in this instance place the interests of the nation above their own feelings.

Through their work and loyalty they will remain just as close to me as companions after my death, just as I hope that my spirit will remain amongst them and will always accompany them.

Let them be hard, but never unjust; above all, let them never allow fear to counsel their actions, but may they place the honor of the nation above everything on this earth.

Finally, may they be conscious of the fact that our task of building a National Socialist state represents the labor of the coming centuries, and this places every single person under an obligation always to serve the common interest and to subordinate his own interests.
끝으로 할수있는한, 국가사회주의 정부의 통합이라는 과제는 모든 이들이 개인의 흥미보다 일반적 가치를 중요하게 여기게 하기 위한, 다가오는 세기의 임무를 나타낸다는 점을 늘 기억하라.

I demand of all Germans, all National Socialists, men and women and all soldiers of the Armed Forces, that they remain faithful and obedient to the new government and to their President unto death.
나는 모든 독일인들, 모든 국가 사회주의자들, 모든 남녀와 독일군의 모든 병사들이, 죽을때까지 새로운 정부와 대통령에게 순종하고 충실하길 바란다.

Above all, I charge the leadership of the nation and their followers with the strict observance of the racial laws and with merciless resistance against the universal poisoners of all peoples, international Jewry.

As I did not consider that I could take responsibility, during the years of struggle, of contracting a marriage, I have now decided, before the closing of my earthly career, to take as my wife that girl who, after many years of faithful friendship, entered, of her own free will, the practically besieged town in order to share her destiny with me.
나는 지난 전쟁 기간 동안 결혼의 관계를 맺는 것은 책임감 없는 행동이라고 믿었으나, 지금 지상에서의 경력을 끝내기에 앞서 오랜 세월 우정을 나누고 자유로운 의사로 완전히 포위된 도시에 들어와 나의 운명을 함께 나누려는 이 아가씨를 아내로 맞아들이기로 결심했다.

At her own desire she goes as my wife with me into death.

What I possess belongs - in so far as it has any value - to the Party.

Should this no longer exist, to the State; should the State also be destroyed, no further decision of mine is necessary.

My pictures, in the collections which I have bought in the course of years, have never been collected for private purposes, but only for the extension of a gallery in my home town of Linz on Donau.

He is permitted to take out everything that has a sentimental value or is necessary for the maintenance of a modest simple life, for my brothers and sisters, also above all for the mother of my wife and my faithful co-workers who are well known to him, principally my old Secretaries Frau Winter etc. who have for many years aided me by their work.
